4th Muallem Prize

All teachers instructors and educators working with individuals aged 18 years or younger are eligible to be nominated. This includes school teachers kindergarten educators welfare instructors training center instructors educational mentors in schools or mosques and all educational roles across public private and community sectors. Nominees must have at least five years of teaching experience and intend to continue teaching for at least the next three years.

4th Muallem Prize – Nomination Guidelines

 

Introduction to the "Muallem Prize"

"Muallem Prize" is a public, nonprofit annual award presented by the Borhan

EducationFoundation withthe participation and support ofindividuals and

organizations. The prize is awarded to one or more teachers each year. Its main

objective is to strengthen the social status of teachers and honor their valuable role in

society.

Policy Council of the "Muallem Prize"

The council consists of distinguished experts, educators, scholars, artists, and

representatives of relevant national and international organizations. It is responsible

for approving the overall framework of the rulebook and making key decisions

regarding the prize. Members are appointed for a specific term. The Minister of

Education serves as the Chair of the Council.

Eligibility for the "Muallem Prize"

All teachers, instructors, and educators working with individuals aged 18 years or

younger are eligible to be nominated. This includes school teachers, kindergarten

educators, welfare instructors, training center instructors, educational mentors in

schools or mosques, and all educational roles across public, private, and community

sectors. Nominees must have at least five years of teaching experience and intend to

continue teaching for at least the next three years.

Nomination Methods

To begin,all users should visit the official Muallem Prize website at

muallemprize.ir and go to the "Call for Nominations" page. From there, they can

choose the appropriate option based on their role:

  • "I am a teacher and would like to apply": Selecting this option opens the

nomination form directly on the same page. After completing and submitting the

form, the teacher will officially enter the evaluation process.

  • "I would like to nominate a teacher": Individuals can submit the details of a

teacher they wish to nominate. The Secretariat will then contact the nominated

teacher and invite them to complete their application. If the teacher is eventually

selected, the person who nominated them will also be acknowledged for helping

recognize an outstanding educator.

Evaluation Process

The evaluation consists of four stages:

  • Stage One: The Secretariat reviews all registrations and selects applicants

who meet the eligibility requirements.

  • Stage Two: The Jury evaluates the selected applications according to the

official award criteria.

  • Stage Three: The Jury, together with subject-matter experts, conducts a

deeper assessment using additional documents and supporting evidence.

  • Stage Four: The Selection Committee chooses the final winner(s) based on

the Jury's evaluations and expert recommendations.

Evaluation Criteria

The following criteria are considered during the evaluation process:

  • Personal and professional excellence
  • Problem-oriented innovation in education
  • Positive impact on students' lives and future
  • Constructive engagement with the local community to support students'

growth and learning

  • Positive social influence and role-model qualities

Funding & Prize Amount

The prize is funded through the support of education advocates, donors, sponsors,

organizations, and institutions. The prize amount is determined each year based on

available funding. For the fourth edition, the final amount will be announced after

sponsorship commitments are finalized and will be awarded to the selected winners.
